Colorful Cottage

The furnishings in this country cottage combine French, Italian, Spanish and English elements, creating a European ambiance with rustic elegant details. The walls are faux painted to achieve a depth and intensity of color and to simulate wear and age. Thick archways connect rooms, French doors connect to the outside, and colorful fabrics in gold, orange and green combine to create a Mediterranean palette. In the kitchen, cream washed pine cabinets are topped with antique French pavers and embellished with French wrought iron hardware. Colorful Italian pottery adorns shelves, and a collection of French confit pots sparkles on the counter.

Cottage Garden

An aged stucco retaining wall, painted wicker chairs with colorful cushions, and European antique accessories contribute to the romance of this garden living area. Wall fountains provide sparkle while a large iron candelabra hangs delicately over the table. A Victorian laundry sink provides an outdoor cleanup area, and an antique urn and chimney top function as planters. Angel corbels from an old English church support the arbor, and rich terra cotta pavers provide a floor for pots and guests. A cozy seating area adjacent to a fountain sits just beyond the French doors from the master bedroom.
