Eye for Beauty

“This above all, to thine own self be true.”

– William Shakespeare

When I started my design business several decades ago, Southwest Style literally burst into the Bay Area over night. It immediately became the rage and people were crazy about it. My very first design client came into a small shop I had at the time requesting help decorating her new home in the trendy high desert style.  I happily obliged but I would soon learn a painful lesson that has stayed with me to this day.

After filling my client’s large, empty home with whimsical one-of-a-kind hand painted pieces from New Mexico, Southwest Style retreated almost as quickly as it swept into the Bay Area. Suddenly their new home was dated, and I was devastated. I will never forget that experience of following the latest design trends, then literally throwing away pieces that nobody wanted because they were no longer “in”.

Eye for Beauty

That experience is a major reason I’m launching my new e-course, Eye for Beauty:  A Spiritual Approach to Creating Spaces That Nourish and Inspire. I’m passionate about teaching people to get in touch with their own unique Eye for Beauty and come home to themselves at the end of the day, instead of the trends.

Eye for Beauty is launching soon. You can check it out here.

I hope you’ll join me and Toby to discover a new way of seeing yourself and the world.

Yours in beauty,

Toby and Linda Applewhite
